Bookdle is the best place for you if you are someone who loves to read and enjoy linguistic challenges. It’s a love letter to the book-loving community, using the addictive puzzle mechanics of Wordle but limiting all answers to the world of publishing, books, writers and literary terminology.
The gameplay retains a classic, streamlined style but requires players to fully utilize their vocabulary related to the world of books.
The daily goal is simply to discover a mystery word closely related to literature within a maximum of six guesses.
Test your vocabulary by typing a valid English word into the empty slots and pressing Enter to have the system check it.
After each guess, the letter tiles change color to provide clues:
Green: The letter is correct and in the right position.
Yellow: The letter appears in the answer but is currently in the wrong position.
Gray: The letter is not part of the day's mystery word.
Possible solutions could be genres, such as DRAMA or NOVEL. Parts of a book, such as PAGES, COVER or SPINE. Names of famous authors, such as TWAIN or KEATS.
Start the round with words that are widely covered within books, such as STORY, NOVEL, PROSE, READS or PAGES. This helps you look for common vowels, boosting your chances of getting the answer on the first turn.
Common words may not provide you any green tiles. Think of industry-specific words or book-related structures like INDEX, BLURB or FOLIO.
Words about books generally have a good many vowels in a row. If a yellow letter is a vowel, rapidly transfer it to a middle position in the word.
Have a great time playing Bookdle!
