Farflung isn’t your average geography trivia game; it’s a worldwide expedition that demands strategy! The more unique your answer, the more points you get in this game. In each round you will have to identify 5 clues related to the borders, continents, history, or geographical characteristics. Then you will have to choose the right country on an interactive map of 195 countries.
Unlike traditional quizzes, a single clue in Farflung might point to multiple potential countries. The game’s standout feature is its scoring system, which rewards deep geographical knowledge: a common answer earns you 40 km, while identifying a country that few others think of can net you up to 100 km. Successfully selecting the rarest answer for all five clues earns you a perfect score of 500 km. Choose between "Classic" mode, which adds the pressure of a 60-second countdown, or "Wander" mode for a more relaxed, practice-oriented experience.
PC: Use your mouse to scroll and zoom in or out on the world map; left-click to select a country; use your keyboard to type country names into the quick-search bar.
Mobile: Tap and swipe to navigate the map, pinch to zoom in or out, and tap to drop a pin and submit your answer.
Think differently: Go outside the big, well-known countries. Use the search bar to pick smaller island nations or lesser-renowned countries to maximise your “km” score. Play without pressure: Spend some time in “Wander” mode to get a feel for where things are before you tackle the time-limited “Classic” challenges.
At the end of each round, the system will show you all the countries that were accepted as replies, so you may learn more for the next trip.
